A Book of Disquiet

12,50

A book of poetry written by hotel guests around the world, disturbed by noise. Every word in it was written by someone else, somewhere else; nothing has been added. Trams and pianists and church bells, thin walls and thinner sleep, the sound of strangers on the other side of a wall. Elevators and sirens. Birds, drunks, and children. Noise poetry — true and honest.

Collected and edited by Marcin Barski.

CHURCH

All was perfect,
happy with my choice.

Church woke me up
early

INTIMACY

Historical value of building,
breakfast quality and service.

We had to overhear
intimacy and fighting
in the room next door,
for two nights
in a row.

MY NEIGHBOR

Location was great!
Large room.
Swimming pool and gym.

The air conditioner was too loud.
Homeless people also reside
at the hotel.
I wish they would house them all together
in a unit,
away from those
who are vacationing...
For example, my neighbor
kept banging on my wall
and always opened her door
when I left my room.

She would just stare
at me.
